Induction Coil. Produces
high-voltage AC or pulse of high-voltage current from a low-voltage
DC current source such as a 
battery or medium-current power
supply. These coils are useful to power gas-filled discharge tubes,
certain vacuum tubes, to demonstrate the principles of induction
and for general laboratory work where ever a portable source of
high-voltage AC is required. The device is comprised of two coils
fully enclosed in a polished wood case with binding posts for
the low-voltage DC input. It includes an adjustable vibrator with
special alloy contacts for long life, a primary current polarity
reversal switch, on/off switch and adjustable spark gap. (Spark
gap adjusts by sliding the two contact-point rods back and forth.).
Either model requires 6-12 VDC to operate. NOTE: These devices
are capable of producing dangerously high voltage/current combinations
and are intended to be used only by experienced adult operators!
